Budapest, the capital of Hungary will be hosting the 7th FINA World Junior Swimming Championships which is taking place between 20-25th August in 2019!
Around 1000 young promising swimmers aged between 15-18 (women) 14-17 (men) will be taking part in this six-day top-notch competition, which has seen many of today’s big swimming stars make their debut in the sport.
107 National Federations will be represented in the iconic Duna Arena, completed in a record-breaking two years’ time, served as the main venue of the 17th FINA World Championships. The complex features two Olympic-size pools – the competition pool is 3m deep, while the depth of the warm-up pool can be set according to the needs.
The FINA World Junior Swimming Championships were first held in 2006 in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), in Monterrey (MEX) in 2008, in Lima (PER) in 2011, in Dubai (UAE) in 2013 and the last edition, two years ago, in 2017 was held in Indianapolis (USA).
The world championships is being held for the first time not only in Hungary, but also in Europe, and huge interest and record numbers of participiants are expected, with 107 countries and nearly 1000 swimmers.
